The Retreat is 3 hours north of Auckland, 2km south of Paihia Town Centre off State Highway 11. Travelling from the South look for our sign off the main road on the hill above Te Haumi Beach after you have passed the turnoff to Opua. At our sign ,turn right and drive 100 metres along to our Office ,where we will be waiting to greet you.

Paihia is the main tourist town in the Bay of Islands. Cruises depart from the wharf in Paihia regularly each day or you can take a ferry to Russell. You can walk around the coast from The Retreat or take a short drive to the centre of town. Waitangi Treaty Grounds and Haruru Falls are both a 10-minute drive from The Retreat. 

State Highway 11 is part of the Twin Coast Discovery Highway which encircles Northland.
