The Retreat offers spacious, self-contained holiday accommodation 2km from the centre of Paihia, Bay of Islands, New Zealand. The Retreat overlooks the magnificent Bay of Islands and Te Haumi beach. Set just off the main road on a 4-hectare (10-acre) bush-covered peninsula, our quiet, private and secure holiday accommodation awaits you. The private bush setting of our accommodation allows you to see native NZ birds at close range whilst being only minutes from the Paihia town centre and an extensive range of Bay of Islands cruises, activities and cafes. The Retreat is a relaxed and private alternative to motel and hotel accommodation.

The panoramic sea views and coastal location are breathtaking. The Retreat has 1 studio and 8 spacious 1 and 2-bedroom units with full kitchens, decks and stunning sea views over the Bay of Islands.

Well we are very well and rested after a wonderful Holiday.......now its back to work and into our Winter maintenance....
All unit with freeview and digital reception
The weather is fine and sunny and cool at night but our units have heaters and cosy Electric Blankets on all the beds
Our Units are North facing hence very Sunny and Warm ..for all those living further South...its a great incentive to holiday up in the North

Dont know where November has gone !
We've been busy with Spring maintenance and training to run ...I mean walk The Keri half marathon We are full for the Weekend and feels like Summer is just around the Corner ..... The Pohutukawas are now flowering .that is a good sign for a long Hot Summer
Our Hotspot is up and running and we now have Freeview in half our Units
New TVs next

February 12th 2010
Wow its almost half way thro February and i haven't updated this blog since November. Have had a Family trauma but we are all back up and into gear and Thanks and Love go out to all who helped us to cope with an accident that almost killed our Son in law ,Marcel.
We have had an amazing Summer business wise and of course the endless Sunshine
Look forward to meeting you who are booked in to stay and have a nice Journey to Paihia.

Happy Easter ..that was....
Every one is happy as we are having showers intermitently, which is perfect for a parched Bay of Islands.........Lots of Families on Holiday every thing still happening up here. Come on up !!!!!
